April Newsletter 2020

Greetings.

Usually at this time, I would be composing a monthly newsletter to share my gig schedule with you. As you know, no need for that right now. When exactly Bozeman nightlife will return is, unfortunately, one big unknown. Like many musicians, I am actually welcoming this time to practice, learn, and create. My music lessons will be conducted virtually, and I hope to post videos (so be sure to “Like” my FB band page: www.facebook.com/Edis-Music

I took the attached photo on a beautiful, cold morning while walking my dog on the neighborhood trails. The sun was just coming up, illuminating the newly formed crystals everywhere. I guess they call it “hoarfrost,” but somehow that didn’t fit. Everywhere I looked seemed magical, and I had a clear feeling that everything was going to be all right. I came home with a lighter heart and a solid smile.

Eventually, everything will be all right, but for now, it’s dang crazy. Out of everything, I miss playing for my seniors the most. I can’t imagine what it is like at even the fanciest facility with everyone in forced isolation. I beseech you to call any senior—friend, relative, or acquaintance—and visit on the phone (if they are able). Offer to pick up groceries if they are at home, and if you’re comfortable doing so.

Mostly, please be kind to each other. Smile even more—even if you can’t hug. Believe me, it will be appreciated.

I do hope KGLT will continue doing live broadcasts, even if our fund drive is postponed. So tune in to 91.9 fm in Bozeman, or check out other frequencies or stream at www.kglt.net.  My “Blues by Heart” show is Saturdays, 3 to 6 pm.

I will send an update as soon as we all know more.

Sending major virtual hugs,

Edis
