April Newsletter 2021

Hello friends,

Spring is teasing us with daffodils and snow showers, and I love it. Such a welcomed time. The photo above was taken on a recent hike on the Lewis and Clark Cavern trails. No snow there, though we still have some in our backyard. We also hear murmurs of music venues opening up. Thus far, I haven't felt comfortable with the thought of playing at a bar or pub, but now I'm seeing it as more of a possibility. I hope to share news of gigs real soon. For now, the one pretty-sure-it's-a-definite is that I'll be playing every Wednesday at the 320 Ranch outdoor public barbecues starting in June, just like last year. I'll be posting any news on my website:

I'm also moving to every other Saturday at KGLT since Larry Newman has returned from warmer climes. He'll be doing his Country Folk show, alternating with my Blues By Heart show, 3 to 6 p.m. Mountain Time, Saturdays. A BIG shout out to all who called in with pledges during our recent fund drive. THANK YOU! Find more information on the website: www.kglt.net

I'm attaching a short video I recently created. I'm thankful to be a part of a creativity group in which we're encouraged to simply create and try new things. I've always loved horses--still do. When I was a kid, I spent hours drawing them and did a darn decent job. I rarely draw anymore, however. I thought I'd give it a try again for our group. I spent 3 or 4 nights sketching horses. I then used the "movie" app to make a video out of the sketches. You can see how they improved over a few nights. The last slide is my favorite. For background music, I used a song called "Pegasus" from my first CD. It was a fun, rewarding project. I hope you enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0qRKleUtp8

Know that more musical times are in the future! Hope to see you somewhere, sometime. Keep staying safe and happy.
