August Newsletter 2021

Greetings, all.

I usually send a beautiful nature picture with my newsletter; however, our smoky skies have affected the view, as many of you know. Hence, this photo, which can in fact be considered pleasing. I took it while standing in the campground at Red Ants Pants on Sunday evening, July 25th, the last day of the music festival in White Sulphur Springs, MT. That night, we watched the flames grow on that far hillside to the west. To some, this was a beautiful sight. Indeed, as I watched in fear and trepidation, I spoke with a firefighter who found these flames to be magnificent. He explained that since the temperature was low, the fire was staying low to the ground, only burning the lower vegetation and leaving the tree canopy intact. He continued that if the upper third of the tree survived, the tree would probably live. At the same time, the dry, potential fuel burns up, helping to avoid future fires. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

I do hope you are finding beauty in your life every single day. What a wild journey we all are on. I so much appreciate sharing my music once again. At Red Ants Pants, almost every musician shared how very special it is to be back on stage, playing music. It’s as if all of our once everyday experiences are now so much more vibrant and special. Wishing you the same daily delights!

Here are a couple of gigs coming up. Thanks for supporting live music, and hope to see you sometime soon!

320 Ranch Wednesday Barbecues should continue till September. More info on that can be found at www.320ranch.com/dining/chuckwagon-bbq

Regarding KGLT, I’m afraid I’ll be missing all of August! I’m sad to say that, but between gigs and personal fun time, I’ll be tied up (unless something changes, of course). Larry Newman will carry on, covering all slots with his Country Folk Show. I’ll be back September 11th, 3 to 6 p.m.

All the best, and be well,

Edis
